Stahl Post 30 falls to Newark Post 10 in annual 4th of July game

Stahl Post 30 hosted the Newark Post 10  Generals in the annual July 4th American Legion baseball game at Wilson Field. The game played in front of a large crowd of Stahl Post patrons provided some early fireworks in a game that saw thirty three runs cross the plate. 

 

The game lasted almost three hours and thirty minutes under the hot sun with almost no breeze. It was a hot day but the bats were hotter. Newark Post 10 Generals collected 16 hits in the game, while Stahl Post 30 American Legion collected nine hits in an 18-15 win for the visiting Generals. 

 

Reynaldo Carrier went 3-for-5 at the plate and led Newark Post 10 Generals with seven runs batted in. Quinton Hauser led General’s with four hits. As a team the Newark Post eight walks and stole seven bases. The Generals scored in every inning of the game and took advantage of six errors surrendered by Stahl Post 30

 

Peyton Brannock and Mikey Baker each collected two hits for Stahl Post.  Brannock had a triple and scored two runs while knocking in one run. Baker added a double while scoring a run and knocked in four runs. Stahl Post 30 accumulated 15 walks and stole seven bases in the game as a team.
