Most of Delaware will get 2 to 4 inches of snow Thursday night through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

“A period of moderate to locally heavy snow is anticipated to spread across much of the region,” the National Weather Service said.

Estimates on Wednesday afternoon ranged from 2 to 3 inches in the curve of New Castle County to 3 to 4 inches for the rest of the state, with the southern most coastal areas like Bethany BeachĀ  expected to get about 1 inch.

“Confidence is fairly high that widespread snowfall accumulations of at least 2-4 inches will occur across much of our area,” the weather service said.
A band of more significant amounts of 4 to 6 inches is probable somewhere across the area, the service said.
