Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Clarence Edwards,63, of Felton, for several charges related to contact he had with a child. During the month of September 2024, the Dover Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was contacted regarding the sexual solicitation of a 13-year-old child. Through the investigation, it was revealed that Edwards had solicited the 13-year-old for sexual contact several times and had sent the victim several inappropriate photographs. It was also determined that Edwards was a registered Tier 2 Sex Offender as a result of a 2005 conviction. Warrants were obtained for Edwards and on September 26, 2024, he turned himself in to the Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.
Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victim, only limited information will be released at this time.
Edwards was committed to SCI on $1,380,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Sex Offender Unlawful Sexual Conduct (8x)
-Sexual Solicitation of a Child (3x)
-Obscenity Material Provided to a Person Less than 18 years old (5x)
Edwards is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
