The event will be held on April 2 at the Red Roof Inn on College Ave. in Newark.

Faithful Friends Animal Society, The Journey and the Food Bank of Delaware will join forces on April 2 to offer supplies, resources and support to Delawareans facing housing insecurity – and their pets.

The three groups will host “Easter Hope 2022” from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Newark Red Roof Inn, a pet-friendly hotel that offers housing to folks who are homeless.

The Red Roof Inn is located at 1119 S. College Avenue in Newark.

Easter Hope 2022 will provide personal care items, non-perishable food, clothing, kids’ Easter baskets, barber services and pet food to families in financial distress.

“Free Pet Food Banks are part of a safety net of services we provide to keep pets with their loving owners,” said Jane Pierantozzi, executive director of Faithful Friends. “The drive-up food banks ease the worry and financial burden on many families and cat colony caretakers who have been affected economically during the recent pandemic. During these uncertain times, animals provide emotional support to us and our families, and we need to ensure they are taken care of too.”
