In a strategic move designed to enhance its corporate transactional, advisory, and governance capabilities, Morris James is proud to announce the formation of its new Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice, marking a significant enhancement in the firm’s service offerings. The foundation of this strategic expansion results from the integration of three seasoned corporate and M&A attorneys from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP with experience advising on matters with an aggregate value in the hundreds of billions of dollars.

Adding these distinguished attorneys to the Morris James team signifies a notable expansion in the firm’s corporate law services, including complex M&A and private equity deals. The new team has experience advising public and private companies and private equity sponsors in the US and cross-border M&A, including mergers, acquisitions, investments, dispositions, spinoffs, and other transactions, as well as on significant questions of Delaware corporations and alternative entities, and positions Morris James as a formidable player in the corporate legal services arena.

“Our firm is committed to providing comprehensive and robust corporate law services to our clients. The arrival of these outstanding attorneys enriches our capabilities, ensuring that we continue to provide our clients the highest level of services,” said Keith Donovan, Managing Partner of Morris James. “This expansion is a testament to our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our clients and emphasizes our commitment to being at the forefront of corporate law in Delaware and beyond.”

The new Corporate/M&A practice will be led by Partner Vince J. Cannizzaro, III, who has garnered widespread recognition in M&A and Delaware law. Speaking on the move to Morris James, he stated, “The decision to bring my practice to a firm like Morris James that has a sterling reputation in Delaware corporate law and client service was an easy one to make. The firm and my team are a perfect fit for each other, and I am excited about the opportunities it presents for delivering sophisticated legal solutions to our clients.” Cannizzaro will be accompanied by long-time colleagues Counsel Aarish Sheikh and Associate Justin Larsen.

Morris James’ strategic initiative to expand its corporate and alternative entities’ legal services underscores its commitment to excellence and client service. Adding the capabilities of the Corporate/M&A practice to its existing practices, the firm is now fully equipped to address the multi-faceted needs of corporate and alternative entity clients to produce exceptional results.
