“Illuminated Fountain Shows are back!” Longwood Gardens announced Monday on Facebook, and within hours, the news drew thousands of likes, comments and shares.

“Beginning May 6, Illuminated Fountain Shows are lighting up our Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights,” the post continued. “We’ve even added new musical shows to the mix featuring Beyonce and Nina Simone, Madonna and Lady Gaga and Dolly Parton. Get your groove on and your jets going for a night of fabulous fountain fun.”

The fountain shows are included in all admissions, a Longwood page notes. “All membership levels, except Gardens Premium members, must make reservations at this time. Timed admission tickets are required.”

The shows will start at 9:15 p.m. through Aug. 28, then at 8:15 p.m. Sept. 2 through Oct. 30. Each evening has a musical theme, starting with “Queens of Soul.”

Blankets and chairs are permitted in designated areas, Longwood notes.

Sellouts are likely, programs are subject to change, and severe weather may cause cancellations, it warns.

“Just LOVE these brilliant fountains exploding to music of classics, theme songs, musicals and more!” Terry Jelenek wrote in one of the many excited comments. “Highlight of my summer!”

“Ohhh we have to go when it’s all lit up like this,” Merima Nardone wrote.
