GOLO Donates $70K Across Delaware; Visits W.B. Simpson School in Wyoming, DE for Physical Education Demonstration

GOLO, the Delaware-based health and wellness solutions company, has announced $70K of donations to local organizations throughout the first state.

In addition the these donations, GOLO funded a Project Fit America physical education training for W.B. Simpson School in Wyoming, DE, which held a demonstration with students and staff yesterday to show off the results of this innovative educational initiative.

“These contributions advance our mission to collaborate with community organizations that are creating real and significant impact in people’s lives,” stated Jennifer Brooks, Co-founder and President of GOLO.

Special Olympics Delaware
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

“GOLO has been a strong advocate of our Summer Games and sponsor of our Healthy Athlete station for many years,” said David Halley, President and CEO, Special Olympics of Delaware. “Their support provides free health education, activities, and screenings for over 500 athletes. We could not offer these free programs without their involvement and support. It truly is life-changing!”

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware serves families with seriously ill children by enabling access to medical care and providing a place that offers comfort, hope, and togetherness. Their programs and support services include a 50-bedroom Ronald McDonald House, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and two hospitality cart programs.

Our families are then able to focus on what matters most – the well-being of their child.”

Sunday Breakfast Mission
Sunday Breakfast Mission provides care and support to many homeless, hurting, and hungry men, women, and children in the surrounding Wilmington, Delaware area.

“We so appreciate the $10,000 gift from GOLO,” said Reverend Thomas Laymon, Senior Pastor, CEO and President, Sunday Breakfast Mission. “It is helping us provide over 3500 meals that go even further to open the door to transforming lives.”

Exceptional Care for Children
Exceptional Care for Children is a pediatric skilled nursing facility located in Newark, Delaware that provides transitional, long term and palliative care to medically fragile and technology dependent children who are between the ages of birth and 21 years old.

Sussex County Habitat for Humanity:
Sussex County Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Founded in 1991 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity international, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity has served over 2,500 individuals throughout Sussex County through home construction and preservation, home repairs, financial literacy and energy efficient upgrades.

The mission of Pathways to Success is to prepare youth, adults, and their families for successful lives. The organization utilizes innovative and creative approaches in mentoring and education to help individuals develop to be healthy, productive, contributing and responsible citizens. Working in service to at-risk communities in a spirit of offering hope through empowerment, education and information.
