Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore is delighted to announce that Steve “Stevie” Tull, of Seaford, DE, will serve as this year’s ambassador for their annual “Walk With Me & 5K Run Delmarva” event. It will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Baywood Greens, 32267 Clubhouse Way, Long Neck, DE.

Stevie has been bringing smiles to the faces of staff and fellow participants at his Easterseals Adult Day program in Georgetown since 2007. The program not only gives him the opportunity to socialize with his peers and remain a part of his community, but also gives his parents a much-needed break from full time caregiving.

“We have always been thankful for Easterseals. Stevie loves the day program. It adds so much to his quality of life to go there,” Stevie’s dad, Steve, says. “Without the day program, we would have no respite. It would wear us down. It would change the quality of our lives as well.”

Along with attending Easterseals day program throughout the year, Stevie gets to enjoy a week of adventure every summer at Camp Fairlee. This year, he is looking forward to their “Lost in Space” theme, as well as soaring down the zipline, swimming in the accessible pool, riding a horse, and experiencing independence away from his parents in a supportive environment. While Stevie is enjoying high-flying adventures, his parents look forward to going out to eat and taking a little trip, which is more challenging when Stevie is at home.

“He goes to Camp Fairlee every summer. He really enjoys being independent away from Mom and Dad,” Stevie’s mom, Terry, says. “He loves riding the zip line. Stevie is such a dare devil!”

Funds raised through Walk With Me help Easterseals provide critically needed services to families living with disabilities in our local community.
