NEWARK — The Ninth Annual “Deer Park Goes Pink” 5K race and one-mile Fun Walk took place Oct. 20 under blue skies. Nearly 700 participants took advantage of the perfect weather to raise money for the Delaware Breast Cancer CoalitionThe runners and walkers started at 9 am on a route that began on Orchard Road. Brett Pfeiffer of Centreville, Maryland was the first to cross the finish line. Delaware’s Steve Sinko finished first in the Master’s division for males. El Jones of Wilmington was the first female runner in the 5K, while Nikki Hudak from Wilmington won the female master’s division.
