The D1 Showcase is a two-day event that had basketball teams from Delaware play teams from Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland this year. The tournament took a few top teams from Delaware and placed them against a few top teams from the Eastern region, including No. 15 nationally-ranked Dematha Catholic from Maryland.Â
The two-day tournament took place on Friday and Saturday at two different venues. On Friday night there were three games at the St E Center at St. Elizabethâs. Then, on Saturday, they played four games at Salesianum High School.Â

Friday Night gamesÂ
St Andrews vs Eagle Academy (NY)
Eagle Academy defeated St Andrews 53-40. Eagle Academy was led by Jordan Randolph who had 18 points to lead all scorers in the game. Darnell Llyod led the Saints with 13 points.
William Penn vs Bonner Prendie (PA)
Bonner Prendie defeated Penn 43-32. The young Penn team had trouble scoring in this one but hung tough with the Friars. Korey Francis led the Friars with 15 points, while Andy Webb led the Colonials with 18 points.Â
Howard vs DeMatha Catholic (MD)
Dematha defeated Howard 77-31. Dematha cam into this game the No. 15th ranked team in the country and it showed. Unfortunately, the Wildcats were outmatched, but they played tough against a very good team. Â
Saturdayâs Games
Sanford vs Friends Central (PA)
Sanford defeated Friends 60-44. Sanford used a strong second half to pull away from Friends. Jaylen Taylor led Sanford with 19 points, while Nico McNeill added 16.Â
St Andrew’s vs Salesianum
St Andrew’s defeated Salesianum 55-50 in a huge upset. St Andrews was led by Elijah Proctor-Moore, who took this game over by scoring 25 points for the Saints. Blake Kelly, Josh Ho, and Darnell Llyod all played significant roles in this win for the Saints.Â
Dematha Catholic (MD) vs Eagle Academy (NY)
This game was the premier matchup of the showcase, with two very talented teams facing off. Dematha proved to be too much as they defeated Eagle 68-46. Demathaâs Division 1 prospect Ashton (Ace) Meeks led them with 19 points.Â
St Elizabeth vs St Frances (MD)
St Frances defeated St Elizabeth 70-59. This was a three-point game for most of it, but St Frances was able to pull away late in the fourth quarter.
