Gov. John Carney’s COVID-19 public health order ends at 6 p.m. today,

A flurry of federal and state emergency orders accompanied the appearance of COVID-19 in Delaware in March of 2020, sparking months of fear, worry, illness, financial pain and illness.

Three years and two months later, Gov. John Carney will formally end his State of Delaware Public Health Emergency order at 6 p.m. today, May 11, on a glorious spring day full of sunshine and light winds blowing through flowering plants.

Carney’s move echoes that of President Joe Biden, whose federal order also ends today.

“Thank you to each and every Delawarean who helped us get to where we are today,” Carney said.
