On a chilly Friday night as the sun was going down, Caravel’s bats were heating up. The team would finish with 15 hits and 11 runs to defeat Oxford (PA) 11-1.

Kendall Browne, Caravel’s leadoff hitter and center fielder, hit a sky high pop up that barely stayed fair and as she ran through first base and went down holding her knee, she would not return to play tonight.

The recipe for the win tonight was leadership and perseverance. Senior third baseman Haley Grygo was 3 for 4 with a homerun and 2 RBI’s. While being an impact player tonight, she also helped pick up some of her younger teammates with positive words of encouragement throughout the game.

Katrina Baran and Paige Richardson each tripled while Kasey Xenidis and Paige Richarson doubled. Bethany Watkins was 2 for 3 with an RBI as well.

Kasey Xenidis was stellar on the mound with seven strikeouts and no walks. She helped her cause offensively as well tonight. Leah Richarsdson, the second baseman, was steady for her team tonight in all facets of her game. She has been working hard and is settling into her position. She credits her offensive success to “staying back and being on time with the ball.”

Caravel improves to 9-1 on the season.
