A recent award shows the strong connection between Beebe Healthcare and the country’s military and veterans.

Lori Kline, Catheterization Lab Nurse Manager at the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, was recently honored with the Patriot Award from the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office.

Kline was recognized by Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist, Faith Fyock, who was granted leave to serve in the National Guard. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, helping families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

The ESGR office develops and promotes employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating for relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

Major General Michael Berry and John M. Dill of ESGR Delaware recently presented the award to Kline at the Lewes Campus.

In a separate event, Ashley Foster, Chief People Officer at Beebe Healthcare, signed the ESGR’s Statement of Support letter, in which Beebe pledges to:

• Fully recognize, honor, and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act
• Provide our managers and supervisors with the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve
• Appreciate the values, leadership, and unique skills service members bring to the workforce
• Encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists, and Veterans
• Continually recognize and support our country’s Service members and their families, in peace, in crises, and in war.
