WILMINGTON — As part of a regional tour coinciding with the American Library Association’s (ALA) Annual Conference, Senator Darius Brown, D-Wilmington, will speak at the North Wilmington Public Library Campus Hub this Friday to spotlight recent renovations and programming investments.

The Delaware Library Tour, organized by Margaret Sullivan Studio, is a featured event during the ALA Preconference and aims to showcase library innovations across the state.

The North Wilmington stop will include remarks and a discussion led by Senator Brown alongside key figures in Delaware’s library system, including Margaret Sullivan; Dr. Annie Norman, Director of the Delaware Division of Libraries; and Jamar Rahming, Executive Director of the Wilmington Public Library.

“Libraries are essential to our communities, and deserve to be recognized for the impact they have on our neighborhoods,” Brown said. “These spaces are designed for the people, offering vital resources, serving as a hub of information, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment. This week’s event highlights how the North Wilmington Public Library supports and uplifts constituents across my district, and demonstrates the necessary work our state has been doing to ensure these facilities remain open and accessible.”

The visit will also include a tour of the facility, lunch, and potential live performances.

Attendees will learn about recent updates to the Campus Hub, which has seen a wave of revitalization through state investments aimed at enhancing access, resources, and community programming.

The event will take place on Friday, June 27 at 11:30 a.m. at 3905 North Market Street in Wilmington.
