Delaware LIVE News is a locally-owned, statewide media company. Rooted in traditional journalism, our mission is to bring back daily, local media to The First State as we focus on its people, organizations, and businesses; not national news and headlines. We believe a more informed citizenry will be engaged in their communities and have the ability to be an active part of their own future.

Chris Kenny, CEO and President
Chris Kenny is a Delaware business leader and philanthropist with a commitment to improving life and business in the state. A graduate of the University of Delaware and Widener’s Delaware Law School, Kenny has risen through his family’s business, now serving as President and CEO of one of Delaware’s largest supermarket chains. In 2020, he expanded into media, founding Delaware LIVE News, a statewide news platform. Kenny is also the founder of A Better Delaware, a non-partisan advocacy group promoting government transparency and economic growth.

Sonja M. Frey, Graphic Designer at Delaware LIVE
Sonja M. Frey is a talented artist and graphic designer for Delaware LIVE. She oversees the layout and design for the TownSquare LIVE, Delaware LIVE Weekly Report, and Milford LIVE Weekly Report. With a sharp eye for detail and creativity, Sonja ensures each publication is visually engaging and easy to navigate. Her design expertise is key to delivering high-quality content that connects with the Delaware community through Delaware LIVE's weekly reports.

Carol A. Houseal, Senior Sales Executive
Carol Houseal is a seasoned sales professional with extensive experience in communications and marketing. She previously worked as an Account Executive at Delaware Business Times and held leadership roles at Padua Academy, Intercollegiate Studies Institute, and Sandy Cove Conference Center. Houseal has also contributed to major companies like Remington Arms and DuPont in sales and marketing roles. She is the co-founder of the Delaware Pray Breakfast, a Delaware tradition and actively volunteers for organizations such as the Delaware Leadership Foundation and the Sunday Breakfast Mission. Carol holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Delaware and resides in Wilmington with her husband, Tim, and their two daughters.

Peggy Mika, Advisory Board Member
Peggy Mika brings over a decade of experience as marketing director at Christiana Care and a strong background in healthcare marketing. Prior to her work in healthcare, she served as a newspaper reporter and editor, honing her skills in both communication and media. As an advisory board member for Delaware LIVE, Mika’s insights are instrumental in shaping the publication’s marketing and outreach strategies.

Mike Mika, Advisory Board Member
With a career spanning decades at Gannett Corp, Mike Mika was integral in transitioning news delivery to digital platforms. He later joined Delaware Business Times as editor and is now a digital marketing consultant specializing in content development. As an advisory board member, he provides strategic guidance on digital content and innovation for Delaware LIVE News.

Vernon Proctor, Advisory Board Member
Vernon Proctor is a retired corporate lawyer who has been active in civic and community leadership, serving as president of the Bethel Town Council. His contributions to various publications and his legal expertise offer a unique perspective to Delaware LIVE. Proctor’s guidance on the advisory board ensures a strong foundation in governance and strategic planning.

Betsy Price, Senior Journalist -Town Square LIVE
Betsy Price has over 40 years of experience in journalism, with a career that spans reporting and editing in Alabama and Delaware. After joining The News Journal in 2005, Price became a respected voice in Delaware’s media landscape. She now serves as Senior Editor of  Delaware LIVE & Town Square LIVE, bringing her wealth of knowledge to the community-focused outlet, delivering both hard news and human-interest stories.

Terry Rogers, Journalist for Milford LIVE
Terry Rogers is a dedicated journalist for Milford LIVE with over a decade of experience providing writing and research services. Since 2010, she has also run Busy Bee Services LLC, specializing in SEO-optimized articles, blogs, newsletters, and more. Her work includes travel reviews, corporate research, and genealogical studies. Terry has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and an Associate of Arts in Human Services from Delaware Technical and Community College. In addition to her writing career, Terry has volunteered as a commissioner for the Milford Museum since 2013, preserving local history and culture.

George Rotsch, Vice President, Client Communications
George Rotsch is a veteran marketing professional with experience across digital and traditional media. A former Senior Partner at Trellist Marketing & Technology and a marketing strategist at DuPont, Rotsch now consults with various organizations on communication strategies, including Delaware non-profits, professional service firms, and advocacy groups. He is a board member with Candlelight Theatre, Catholic Charities, and other community groups. As Vice President of Client Communications at Delaware LIVE, he ensures strong connections between the company and its clients.

Jarek Rutz, Journalist- Delaware LIVE
Jarek Rutz is a rising talent in journalism, with degrees in journalism and political science from Temple University. After managing CNN's Michael Smerconish’s YouTube channel and working as a reporter for the Bucks County Herald, Rutz joined Delaware LIVE as an editor. He focuses on delivering timely, impactful news that resonates with Delaware residents. He has earned local and national awards this year for stories about the Delaware community. Jarek will continue to focus on education issues and will take over as the Editor of Delaware LIVE.

Bryan Shupe, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief
Bryan Shupe is a dedicated leader in media and public service. As the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Delaware LIVE and a State Representative, Shupe’s passion for community-driven solutions led him to launch Milford Live, Delaware’s first hyperlocal news outlet. He now oversees Delaware LIVE’s statewide news network, bringing local stories to the forefront through digital platforms and live sports coverage. Shupe is a small business owner who advocates for economic growth and government transparency.

John Sweeney, Advisory Board Member
John Sweeney is the former editor of the opinion page at The Wilmington News Journal, with over 33 years of experience in journalism. He also served as a public editor and writing coach, contributing his expertise to editorial leadership. As an advisory board member for Delaware LIVE, Sweeney offers critical insights into media ethics and editorial direction.

Rich Schwartzman, Senior Journalist,  Chadds Ford LIVE
Rich Schwartzman has been reporting on events in the greater Chadds Ford area since September 2001, when he became the founding editor of The Chadds Ford Post. In April 2009, he transitioned to Chadds Ford LIVE, where he now serves as managing editor. With a career spanning over two decades, Schwartzman has earned a reputation for his in-depth coverage of local government, education, and community events. An award-winning photographer, he brings a unique visual storytelling element to his journalism. His dedication to accurate reporting and community engagement continues to make Chadds Ford LIVE a trusted source for local news.

George Rotsch

George Rotsch is a veteran marketing professional in both digital and traditional media.  He retired as a Senior Partner at Trellist Marketing & Technology and as a Marketing Strategist and Business Manager in Corporate Plans from the DuPont Company. For the last five years, he has consulted with arts organizations, non-profits, education organizations, technology firms, and small to mid-sized businesses on marketing, promotion, and communications.  He is a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, Vice President of Candlelight Theatre, and is involved with his church.  He has served as a board member with responsibilities in marketing for the Tech Forum of Delaware; Junior Achievement; St. Ann’s School; Kalmar Nyckel Foundation; Forty Acres Civic Association; Fox Hollow Community Board; Wilmington Drama League; Delaware, Children’s Theatre, Boy Scouts of America (Committee Chair) and more.  He is a graduate of Penn State University in marketing, Manchester University in Manchester England in international communications, and the University of Delaware with an MBA in marketing and finance.  He is certified in many digital communications platforms including HubSpot, Google Analytics, YouTube, and most email platforms.

Carol A. Houseal

An experienced Account Executive at Delaware Business Times (Today Media), she was Director of Communications at Padua Academy, Director of Communications for Intercollegiate Studies Institute, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sandy Cove Conference Center, and an Inside Sales Rep for  Remington Arms and Dupont. Carol is a volunteer for the Delaware Leadership Foundation, Sunday Breakfast Mission, and other service and community organizations. She received her B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Delaware. She is married to her husband Tim, a partner at YCS&T, and they recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They have 2 daughters, Abbey (Abigail) and Sarah who are Independence School and Padua Academy graduates. Carol was born in Frankfurt, Germany in the U.S. Army hospital but has since been a native Delawarean.
