Accompanying the sadness of the unofficial end of summer is a long weekend including parades, beach days, barbecues, and a day off Monday.
Labor Day is a U.S. holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September, honoring the contributions and achievements of American workers and the labor movement.
Originally established in the late 19th century, it became a federal holiday in 1894.
Here’s all that’s happening in the First State this Labor Day Weekend.
Weather for Labor Day Weekend
The weather will follow the unofficial start to autumn with cool temperatures and sunny skies.
Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 77 degrees, with some clouds and temperatures dropping to a cool 55 at night, according to the National Weather Service.
