ELKTON – The Auxiliary of ChristianaCare, Union Hospital has presented a $120,000 check to renovate the hospital’s fourth-floor Behavioral Health unit, continuing an ongoing effort to support clinical spaces.
Auxilians delivered the gift in June, marking another milestone in their support.
“As ChristianaCare Union Hospital looks for new ways to improve health in Cecil County, the Union Hospital Auxiliary keeps rising to the occasion to help those we serve,” said Dia Williams Adams, MPA, vice president of Philanthropy at ChristianaCare. “Their generosity brightens lives and strengthens care close to home.”
Funds were raised through three main efforts: the volunteer-run Good as New Shop at 213 North Street in Elkton; the Gift Shoppe located inside the main lobby; and flower and specialty sales held in the hospital lobby and parking garage throughout the year.
Last year, the Auxiliary donated $130,000 toward improvements for the Behavioral Health unit. In 2023, a $120,000 gift supported the Family Birth Center, Maternal-Infant Center, Breast Health Center, and other projects serving patients across the lifespan.
