Delaware LIVE Announces LIVE Sports Platform

Delaware LIVE, a locally-owned, statewide news media company that launched in an effort to combat the national takeover of Delaware news, announced today that it has made its third acquisition since its inception in June 2020. The merger with 302 Sports LLC will allow Delaware LIVE’s 45,000 and growing subscribers to access live full production sports coverage, athlete and coach interviews and photo galleries from Delaware high school sports from across the First State.

“It feels great to be recognized for what we have been doing and we are excited to have the opportunity to take this to the next level,” said 302 Sports owner Nick Halliday. “Our reporters have been so dedicated to keeping our local schools at the forefront of news and Delaware LIVE Sports will help us give those families the opportunity to be heard.”

Delaware LIVE Sports’ six sports reporters, three photographers and a production team will produce live coverage of Delaware high school sporting events across the fall, winter, spring and summer sports seasons. The season kicked off with the opening of the high school football season last Friday with live coverage of Northern Delaware’s St. Georges Hawks at Appoquinimink Jaguars; Central Delaware’s Dover Senators at Smyrna Eagles; and Southern Delaware’s Cape Henlopen Vikings at Sussex Central Golden Knights.

“It is critical that our local media continues to highlight the positive impact that sports have on our children, families and communities,” said Delaware LIVE founder Chris Kenny. “The Delaware LIVE Sports platform will allow local families to stay connected with local Delaware athletes throughout the season and follow their team closely.”

Rooted in traditional journalism, Delaware LIVE uses an innovative digital platform to interact directly with readers daily.

In addition to full production live coverage for all sports seasons, Delaware LIVE Sports will feature articles, photo galleries and videos across Delaware LIVE Sports Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube pages. Full sports coverage will also appear in Delaware LIVE network’s Weekly Reviews and online websites including Town Square LIVE, covering the Hockessin, Pike Creek, North Wilmington, Brandywine Hundred Area; and Milford LIVE, covering the Greater Milford Area in Kent and Sussex Counties.

Committed to full access for all readers, no paywalls will be found across Delaware LIVE’s online and mobile mediums, including Delaware LIVE Sports.

“Sports bring people together from diverse backgrounds and have the ability to start conversations,” said Delaware LIVE CEO Bryan Shupe. “During a time when other media only allows those that pay to access information, we want all Delaware families to have the opportunity to be informed on what is happening in their local communities.”
