On June 12, 2016 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 46yo Milford man stemming from sexual assaults and other criminal offenses that occurred at a residence located within the 900 block of SE 2nd St. on June 10, 2016 and June 11, 2016. Jorge De La Cruz was charged with Rape 1st Degree (2 counts), Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing (2 counts), Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree, Strangulation, Assault 3rd Degree, Terroristic Threatening, Offensive Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts). According to police, investigation revealed that on the morning of June 10, 2016 Cruz attempted to hit the 34yo female victim with an iron during a verbal dispute. On the night of June 10, 2016, Cruz was involved in another verbal dispute with the 34yo female victim when Cruz pushed the female victim out of the chair she was sitting in, knocking her to the floor. Cruz then grabbed a knife and pulled the female victim into the bathroom and held her at knife point not allowing her to leave the bathroom. Cruz then threatened to kill the female victim and her family members. One of the two children, that were in the residence during the incident, attempted to make contact with the female victim through the bathroom door. Cruz then exited the bathroom and took the child to bed. Cruz later came back to the bathroom, grabbed the female victim around her neck and began to strangle her. Cruz stopped when the second child came near the bathroom door. Hours later, on the morning of June 11, 2016, Cruz forced the female victim to perform sex acts. Cruz later forcefully sexually assaulted the female victim. The female victim suffered minor injuries during the incidents and was treated at a local hospital and later released. Cruz was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $29,400.00 secured bond.
