*UPDATE* – Serious Motor Vehicle Crash North of Houston

UPDATE– The Delaware State Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred on Milford-Harrington Highway (SR14) in the area of Cams Fortune Way this afternoon.

Preliminary investigation indicates the incident occurred around 2:10 p.m. Tuesday April 26, 2016 as Eugene N. Tiberi, 54 of Chesapeake City, Maryland, was operating a 2017 Kenworth dump truck westbound on SR14 just east of Cams Fortune Way. Joshua P. Panther, 29 of Dalton, Georgia, was operating a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck eastbound on SR14 when, for an unknown reason, crossed the centerline and into the westbound lane. Tiberi swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid striking the pickup head-on and the Nissan struck the left side of the dump truck.

Eugene Tiberi was properly restrained and was transported by EMS to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Joshua Panther was not properly restrained and was airlifted from the scene by Delaware State Police Aviation to Christiana Medical Center where he is currently listed in critical condition.

The investigation into this incident is on-going and no charges have been filed at this time. SR14 was closed between Deep Grass Lane and Broad Street for approximately three and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
