Troopers Investigate Overturned Truck, Canterbury

Troopers are investigating single vehicle crash that involved a fully loaded dump truck just south of the Canterbury light. According to police, the incident occurred around 8:12 a.m. this morning, Thursday October 22, 2015, as Joshua F. Lineweaver, 27 of Seaford, was operating a 1985 Ford Dump Truck northbound on South DuPont Highway (US13) in the left lane approaching Irish Hill Road. For unknown reasons, the truck swerved from the left lane across the right lane and off the highway into a farm field where the truck overturned on its passenger side, spilling stone into the field.

Joshua Lineweaver, who was not properly restrained, was temporarily trapped in the cab of the truck before being transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was cited for Failure to Remain within a Single Lane.

Crews from DelDOT and DNREC remain on the scene in order to assist with the clean-up from the fuel spill as well as the removal of the stone and upright the truck. Currently the right lane of US13 northbound is closed in the area.
