The Music School of Delaware’s Milford Branch will showcase their faculty artists for a musical welcoming of Spring at the Music Masters concert, Nachtmusik, on Tuesday, May 5, at 7 pm at the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church Avenue in Milford. The performance will feature Music School faculty artists Dr. Donna Beech, piano; Nina Cottman, viola; Eliezer Gutman, violin; Jessica Hoffman, violin; Kate Inie-Richards, viola; Dr. Oleg Maslov, piano; Julianne Murphy, violin; and Jennifer Crowell Stomberg, cello. The repertoire will include works by composers Chopin, Fuchs, Liszt and Schubert.
“This concert’s theme, ‘Nachtmusik,’ gives everyone the chance to experience a serenade of night music,” says Milford Branch Director, Kate Inie-Richards. “This is also the premiere performance by The Milford Branch Suzuki Faculty String Quartet, in which they will play a work from Schubert,” Inie-Richards notes. “I’m excited to for us all to perform in the beautiful sanctuary of Avenue United Methodist Church in the heart of downtown Milford.”
Located at 10 South Walnut Street in downtown Milford, the Music School of Delaware is a community resource open to the public that employs nearly 100 expert educators and offers standard-setting instructional programs for people of all ages and levels. Cheri Astolfi, Dean of The Music School of Delaware, is excited to share the important role that music plays in developing communities and bringing people together across ages and cultures.
“Our Milford programming is always geared toward exposing Milford Branch teaching artists to local audiences and families,” says Astolfi. “I thought it would be particularly exciting to put together a quartet of our Suzuki faculty to be highlighted as well.
The performance will also highlight the diversity of services that the Music School of Delaware offers to children as young as 18 months to adults. The only statewide, accredited, community music school in the nation, the Music School of Delaware serves residents of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland.
