Country music superstars Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Toby Keith will headline the first-ever Delaware Junction, a three-day country music and camping festival at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, DE on August 14 through 16, 2015. In partnership with Highway One, the festival will be held at the Harrington Fairgrounds offering three days of country music with a heavy hitting line-up, as well as camping at Harrington Fields.

“We came up with the name for this festival as sort of a nod to the storied railroad history in that area,” said Brian O’ Connell, Live Nation President of Country Touring. “The Delaware State Fair has always been such a great supporter of country music and we couldn’t think of a better location to host this three-day event in what we hope will become a yearly institution. As I said when we held our press conference back in October, my goal was to deliver a world class festival that is unique to Delaware, the surrounding community and the mid-atlantic in general. I feel like we have put together an incredible lineup, and delivered on our promise in spades.”

Local country music lovers are excited about a second unique musical experience in their back yard, as the Firefly Music festival debuted just two years ago in Dover, DE. Donna Dennis Vandenheuvel, a native of Harrington and resident of Milford, DE is already planning to attend the first Delaware Junction Festival. Donna states that she attends at least three country music festivals a year along with 10 to 15 other concerts during the prime summer season. She attends these festivals mainly with her oldest daughter Brittany, 23, and her friends.

“We travel to Virginia Beach, Pennsylvania , New Jersey,  Ohio , and Nashville yearly. So having a country music festival in my backyard is beyond amazing,” stated Vandenheuvel. “I’m excited with the line up this far I’ve seen them all and all great acts , and can’t wait to see the rest of the line up because I’m positive Alex [Pires]will put on one heck of a festival. “

In a recent press release to local media about the Delaware Junction event, Alex Pires of  Highway One noted, “After two years of effort, we are proud to announce this first class music festival. The lineup is exciting. The 360 plus acres of green fields and trees provide room for everyone. We promise a stand-alone event you won’t want to miss.” Highway One has been operating music venues in Dewey Beach and Newark, Delaware since 1989, including the Bottle & Cork, The Stone Balloon and The Rudder. Highway One has showcased over 100 country acts, from up and comers, to established superstars like Jason Aldean, Maranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum and Eric Church.

Tickets are already on sale as of December 19 with three-day passes starting at $199 and multiple camping options available to festival-goers with pricing starting at $150 per site. Ms. Vandenheuvel plans to spend all three days at the newly created festival.

“My favorite things about festivals are having fun with friends and hearing the great artist perform, to get the full effect of a festival camping is the way to go it adds to the fun after the night has ended,” she said. “I have met and still keep in contact with people I’ve met at other festivals and we always return and hang out.”

Additional artists and more details on the three day event will be announced in the coming days and months leading up to the August event. To purchase tickets and for the latest information, individuals are encouraged to visit
