Finishing the season with a 7-6-2 record, the Milford boys soccer team missed out on the State Tournament. While falling short of their tournament goal, Milford soccer received both Henlopen Conference and All-State honors.

Peterson Mondelus, senior. 1st team All-Conference, 1st team All-State. Mondelus was a huge presence on the pitch, demanding double and even sometimes triple teams. Talking with coach Todd French following the season, it was obvious how much he liked the play of Mondelus. “Peterson is a very gifted player, he has a great first touch as well as real good vision,” French stated.

Brandon Gabriel-Perez, senior, 1st team All-Conference, 1st team All-State. Watching Perez develop over his four seasons as a Buccaneer has been a joy to watch. Pressed into action on defense his freshman season, all Perez did was getter better each season. Perez was another player French glowed about after the season. “Brandon was a joy to coach, the kind of player you love to have,” French said. “His effort is the type you want all your players to give.”

Evenson Dieudonne, sophomore. 1st team All-Conference. 3rd team All-State. Dieudonne emerged improved as a player this season and should be looked at to prove leadership to the Buccaneer’s squad next season. “Evenson is a very fast and dynamic player, he is a real joy to watch on the field,” stated coach French.

Ethan Lennox, senior. 2nd team All-Conference. Lennox was another player who lifted his game this season. The All-Conference recognition is a testament to his hard work and dedication. “Ethan was a captain this year and was very reliable,” French said. “He has a very high soccer I.Q, it was like having another coach on the field.”

Matt Mitzel, sophomore, 2nd team All-Conference. In his first year as a varsity starter, Mitzel showed fantastic poise and intuition on the soccer field. Mitzel should be looked at to be a key player in the next two years to come. “Matt is another player that has a great understanding of the game,” French stated. “It’s going to be great to watch how far he progresses over the next two years.”

Alexis Torres, sophomore, 2nd team All-Conference. Yet another player who Milford fans should be enjoying for years to come. “Alexis is a very tough individual, very solid on defense,” said French. “I have no doubt he will be the best defender on the field next season.”

Derrick Bogan, junior, 2nd team All-Conference. Coming back for his senior season, Bogan will be looked at to prove leadership to the Milford squad. “Derrick is the most versatile player on the team, we can play him just about anywhere.” French stated. “We even needed to use him at keeper this season and he managed a shutout in one of the games.”

Jean Georges, senior, Honorable Mention All-Conference. In his final Milford season Georges battled injuries, yet still received conference recognition. “Jean had a very tough senior season, but he refused to quit. That says a great deal about what kind of player he is,” commented French.
