On March 26,2014 the Milford Police responded to the Travelers Inn Motel after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. Police state that they made contact with the 25yo female victim who had injuries to her face as a result of the domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that the 25yo female victim and Joshua Roussell, 36yo of Clayton, were involved in a domestic dispute in one of the motel rooms. According to the police, during the dispute Roussell grabbed the female victim and began punching her in the head and face. Roussell then strangled the female victim until she became unconscious. When the female victim regained consciousness she attempted to call 911 from her cell phone but Roussell took her cell phone and broke it. Roussell then poured alcoholic beverages over the female victim’s head before taking the female victim’s property and fleeing the scene. Roussell was later apprehended on 3/27/14 and charged with Strangulation, Unlawful Imprisonment 3rd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Theft Under $1000, Criminal Mischief Under $1000 and Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications. The female victim was transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital, treated for her injuries and later released. Roussell was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $8,500 secured bond.
